How to become polyglot
First of all, you need to get rid of the stereotype that people all over the world speak English. Most often, such ideas are untrue and generate complexes. Even in popular tourist towns and resorts, the population is not always able to at least say something in English.
Remember that it is necessary to speak the target language. No one immediately starts to speak a foreign language correctly and without mistakes, but it is impossible to learn how to expressly communicate one’s thoughts without speaking with errors. You can learn a language if you speak. Native speakers are more likely to understand you, even if you use the wrong time, wrong prepositions and wrong articles. In a personal conversation, the context is crucial, it helps people understand each other, even if one of the interlocutors speaks a foreign language poorly and does not perceive him too well by ear. By the way, never be afraid to ask again if something is not clear to you from the words of your interlocutor.
To become a polyglot, you first need to determine at what stage the languages you have learned, understand, want to learn or even improve. Any language can be in your asset or liability. Active knowledge of the language means that you know how to build sentences yourself, even the simplest ones, you can keep up an elementary conversation, you are not afraid to speak this language and have a small vocabulary. Passive knowledge means that you can understand a foreign language, but you cannot speak. Of course, all languages gradually need to withdraw to the asset.
If you want to become a polyglot, do not learn languages one by one. Choose two or three languages from the same group. This will allow you to understand that the language is a logical and coherent system. If you learn related languages at the same time, this will greatly facilitate the process, in fact, you will have to memorize only the differences in the rules, because the languages being studied will be very similar in basis. It is best to teach the basics with a teacher, and only then deepen the knowledge yourself.
By the way, very often there are problems with independent study of the language, since it is rather difficult to organize oneself to constantly do this.Assign yourself a specific time several times a week, which you are ready to spend on learning languages. In no case do not cancel classes, devote to the study process as much time as you can.
At first, you should not look for native speakers to communicate with them. Such communication can only complicate things if you start learning a language from scratch.
