Christmas Holiday Cocktails

Spiced Up Christmas Cocktail Recipe

Looking for  with the wow factor? This imaginative spiced whisky cocktail could be the drink for you. These showstopping cocktails are the creation of Gaetano Chiavetta, mixologist at the Royal Garden Hotel in London.
Follow his surprisingly simple recipe and you’ll have the perfect Christmas cocktail to impress at your festive do.
The Spiced Up Christmas Cocktail is a warming combination of whisky, ginger, honey, and cinnamon. These classic winter drink ingredients are a staple of many drinks at this time of year like hot toddies or mulled cider. But the Spiced Up Christmas Cocktail has a twist, thanks to the addition of a little elderflower cordial. The dash of cordial adds a floral note which really takes this cocktail to the next level.
This cocktail is all about the presentation. Follow the video to see how Gaetano coats his glasses in a dusting of icing sugar, to resemble snowfall. Once the drink is ready, Gaetano double-strains the liquid into a wide-bottomed Cognac glass, then garnishes each drink with a cinnamon stick laid on top of the glass. Your guests can use the cinnamon sticks like a drinks stirrer, for a fun festive touch.
If you love whisky cocktails and are looking for a festive alternative to the usual eggnog or mulled wine, then this warming and fragrant cocktail could be the Christmas drink for you. Just follow our quick recipe video and the simple steps below to create a drink that wouldn’t look out of place in a top London bar.
